Junior starter Madison Ausfahl tossed a one-hitter and struck out eight as the North Callaway Ladybirds stayed unbeaten in the Eastern Missouri Conference by overpowering Community R-6 15-0 on Tuesday night.
The game was called on the 10-run rule after five innings. North Callaway improved to 11-2 overall and 7-0 in the EMO, while Community plunged to 1-13 on the season and 0-7 in conference play.
Ausfahl issued just a pair of walks in remaining unbeaten at 5-0 with the complete-game victory. She helped herself at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a double, two runs batted in and two runs scored.
Senior designated player Kaysey Huddleston also went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and scored three times as the Ladybirds collected 10 hits. Senior shortstop Elaine Brinker finished 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs scored.
"We got a lot of playing time for the subs and it was a good conference win," North Callaway head coach Brandi Thomsen said.
The Ladybirds host EMO opponent Silex at 5 p.m. Thursday.
