North Callaway bows to Hallsville in two sets

Junior middle hitter Bethany Bloss posted a double-double with team highs of 15 kills and 16 digs in the Ladybirds' straight-set loss to the Lady Indians on Monday.

North Callaway (2-6) fell by scores of 25-18 and 25-17.

Junior middle hitter Destri Eichman had 11 digs, chipped in seven kills and blocked two shots. Junior setter Bailey Langworthy handed out 25 assists and registered two digs and senior libero Victoria Demarest notched seven digs.

"I like how they played defense and one thing we can take from this game to tomorrow at Wright City is communicating and listening to each other, but it was a good game," Ladybirds head coach Amy Spence said. "I'm proud of my girls, we just need to learn how to get over adversity."

North Callaway's JV team dropped to 1-7 with a 25-22 and 25-20 loss.

The Ladybirds host Wright City in Eastern Missouri Conference action at 5:30 p.m. today.
