Lady Blue Jays go unbeaten at Fontbonne Quad

Westminster pushed its winning streak to six matches with a five-set St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win over the Fontbonne Lady Griffins at the Fontbonne Quad on Saturday.

The Lady Blue Jays defeated the Lady Griffins 25-21, 19-25, 23-25, 25-18 and 15-12.

Westminster (6-6, 4-0 SLIAC) began the day with a 25-13, 25-15 and 25-23 conference triumph over the Iowa Wesleyan Lady Tigers.

Sophomore outside hitter Riley Lawrence sparked the Lady Blue Jays with a team-high 19 kills, while junior middle hitter Lexi Collier added 14 as Westminster connected on 21.9 percent of its attacks.

Sophomore setter Kayla Reeg supplied a double-double, leading all players with 46 assists and contributing 13 digs. Sophomore setter Gabby LaRose's 16 digs led all players, while junior libero Caroline Will totaled 12.

Lawrence had a game-high 13 kills and produced five digs in the Lady Blue Jays' win over the Lady Tigers. Reeg distributed 36 assists to lead all players and Will pitched in a game-high 13 digs.

Westminster finished with an attack rate of 24.5 percent.

The Lady Blue Jays play at Washington University-St. Louis at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
