Fulton bumped off by Battle

The Lady Hornets managed just five hits and committed four errors in Tuesday night's 13-2, four-inning loss to the Lady Spartans.

Fulton (1-9) - suffering its seventh loss in a row - put up single runs in the first and fourth innings. Battle tallied four runs in the first, one in the second, broke out for five in the third and sealed the win with three in the fourth.

Freshman second baseman Zoe Hrabovsky went 2-for-2 with a run batted in for the Lady Hornets, while freshman starter Kendalyn Roesner finished 1-for-2 with a triple and scored a run. Senior center fielder Haylee Ebersole was 1-for-2 with a run scored and freshman catcher Samantha Weber went 1-for-1.

Roesner, making her first varsity start, threw all four innings in suffering the loss. She was tagged for all 13 runs - 10 earned - on eight hits, walked seven and struck out one.

Fulton returns to North Central Missouri Conference play when it travels to Marshall at 5 p.m. Thursday. The Lady Hornets downed Marshall 9-3 on Aug. 28 in Fulton for their only win.
