Westminster finishes Greenville Quad unbeaten

The Lady Blue Jays ran their win streak to four games with a five-set, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win over the Principia Panthers on Saturday.

Westminster (4-6, 2-0) won 25-20, 22-25, 25-19, 15-25 and 15-13.

Sophomore setter Kayla Reeg posted a double-double, handing out a game-high 45 assists and pitching in 18 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Riley Lawrence put away 19 kills as three other Lady Blue Jays posted double-digit kill totals.

Junior middle hitter Lexi Collier notched 12 kills, while sophomore middle hitter Amanda Kiso and freshman outside hitter Hannah Marshall each tallied 11 as Westminster posted an attack rate of 18.2 percent.

Junior libero Caroline Will had a game-high 20 digs, while sophomore setter Gabby LaRose added 12.

Reeg, again, posted a double in the Lady Blue Jays' four-set win over the MacMurray Lady Highlanders by scores of 25-17, 23-25, 25-17 and 25-21 in their league opener.

Reeg tallied 41 assists and added 10 digs. Freshman libero Kendall Johnson matched Reeg's 10 digs, while LaRose led Westminster with 12.

Lawrence posted 15 kills and Marshall chipped in 11 as the Lady Blue Jays connected on 15 percent of their attacks.

Westminster will play two SLIAC games at the Fontbonne Quad this Saturday. The Lady Blue Jays take on Iowa Wesleyan at 11 a.m., then follow with a match against Fontbonne at 1 p.m.
