Miller, South Callaway cruise past New Haven

Junior Ashley Miller fanned six as the Lady Bulldogs downed the Lady Shamrocks 11-1 on Monday.

Miller threw a complete game, allowing an earned run on six hits and one walk. The lone run allowed by Miller came via a solo home run to lead off the top of the first inning.

South Callaway (9-4) totaled just six hits, but was issued 12 walks on the night. The Lady Bulldogs quickly erased their deficit with four runs in the bottom of the first. South Callaway added three more in the third, one more in the fourth then finished its day with three in the sixth.

Senior catcher Anna Bartley sparked the Lady Bulldogs' offense by going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a pair of doubles. Senior right fielder Emily Caldwell was 1-for-1 with two driven in, senior first baseman Kaitlyn Loucks was 1-for-2 and senior second baseman Paige Brown was 1-for-4.

South Callaway plays at Fayette at 5 p.m. tonight.
