Fulton drops NCMC contest to Mexico

Senior starter Brooke Baysinger supplied the Lady Hornets' only hit in a 1-0 North Central Missouri Conference loss to the Lady Bulldogs on Thursday night at the high school athletic complex.

Fulton suffered its fifth straight loss in dropping to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the NCMC.

Baysinger struck out nine in going the distance. She allowed an earned run on six hits, but issued seven walks.

"She had a lot of walks, but pitched herself out of a lot of difficult situations," Lady Hornets head coach Laura Dooley-Wilder said.

Baysinger accounted for Fulton's lone hit with a single in the bottom of the seventh.

"We had a lot of good hits, they were just at people," Dooley-Wilder said.

The Lady Hornets triumphed 6-0 in the junior varsity game.

Fulton continues NCMC play at Boonville at 5 p.m. Monday.
