Bloss notches double-double in Ladybirds' loss to Calvary Lutheran

North Callaway junior middle hitter Bethany Bloss notched a double-double in the Ladybirds' 25-14, 25-15 loss to the Lady Lions on Tuesday.

Bloss led North Callaway with 11 kills, totaled 12 digs and tied for the team lead with two blocks.

Junior middle hitter Destri Eichman guided the Ladybirds with 15 digs and matched Bloss' two blocks.

North Callaway (2-3) got 10 assists each from senior setter Emily Montgomery and junior setter Bailey Langworthy.

"We just need to improve on when we get a lead, because we had the lead early in the first set, and when we're right there with them, that execution is what we need to work on," Ladybirds head coach Amy Spence said. "Once again, there were still moments that we played together as a team and we're playing better each and every match and that's all I can hope for."

North Callaway's JV team fell to 1-4 with a 25-11, 25-14 defeat.

The Ladybirds play an Eastern Missouri Conference game at Montgomery County at 5 p.m. on Thursday. North Callaway was downed 25-19, 25-8 by the Lady Wildcats in their season opener on Aug. 28.
