South Callaway torches Tuscumbia in SMC opener

The Lady Bulldogs exploded for 15 first-inning runs, thumping the Lady Lions 19-3 in three innings in their Show-Me Conference opener Thursday night.

South Callaway (7-2) did its damage with just nine hits, while drawing seven walks.

Senior Emily Caldwell was 2-for-2 with a double and four runs batted in to spark the Lady Bulldogs. Senior Kaitlyn Loucks finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Junior starter Ashley Miller struck out three in a complete-game triumph. Miller allowed three runs on three hits and didn't surrender a walk.

South Callaway (3-1) prevailed 9-5 in the junior varsity game.

The Lady Bulldogs host Linn in an SMC matchup at 5 p.m. Monday.
