Bray's overtime goal pushes William Woods past John Brown

Freshman midfielder Harrison Bray's strike just one minute into overtime helped the Owls trip the Golden Eagles 1-0 on Friday to remain unbeaten.

It was a third straight win and shutout for William Woods University (4-0-1).

Bray took a pass from sophomore midfielder Brett Hodges and put the ball in the upper left corner of the net for the winning goal in the 91st minute.

The Owls were outshot 19-8 for the game and 12-2 in the second half. Freshman goalkeeper Conor Cable registered eight saves for William Woods.

Cable and sophomore Ivan Monterrubio combined for the shutout in the Owls' 5-0 win over the Ottawa (Kansas) University Braves on Thursday night at Firley Field.

Cable, a freshman, saved all four shots in 65 minutes, 18 seconds of action, while sophomore Monterrubio did not face any shots in 24:42.

William Woods got on the board in the 10th minute on a goal by senior defender Jake Hawes, off an assist from senior midfielder Paulo Conelian. Senior midfielder Luca Stroeter then fed a pass to junior midfielder Alex Severino, which he put in the back of the net in the 33rd minute to push the Owls to a 2-0 advantage they carried into halftime.

Conelian assisted on the Owls' next goal from freshman midfielder Matheus Schmid in the 56th minute, while senior defender Alan Matthew added an unassisted goal in the 64th minute.

Sophomore midfielder Anthony Moscatello notched the Owls' final goal in the 76th minute on a shared assist from Schmid and senior midfielder Sebastian Burich. William Woods outshot the Braves 17-4.

The Owls host Central Methodist University at 7 p.m. Monday.
