Arrowood's one-hitter ignites Lady Bulldogs in 5-0 win over Fulton

South Callaway sophomore starter Konnor Arrowood tossed a one-hit shutout Tuesday night as the Lady Bulldogs toppled the Fulton Lady Hornets 5-0.

Arrowood struck out seven and walked none to collect the victory. The only hit she allowed came on Fulton senior center fielder Haylee Ebersole's single in the top of the sixth inning.

South Callaway (6-2) tallied eight hits and put up a single run in the bottom of the first, three more in the second and one in the fifth. Senior center fielder Hannah Oberdiek went 2-for-3 and scored a run to pace the Lady Bulldogs. Senior catcher Anna Bartley, sophomore third baseman Alyssa Laughlin and senior left fielder Emily Caldwell each had an RBI single.

Senior starter Brooke Baysinger went the distance in being tagged with the loss for the Lady Hornets (1-3). Baysinger struck out four and walked none. Four of the five runs she surrendered were earned.

South Callaway prevailed in the junior varsity game 6-0 in three innings.

The Lady Bulldogs travel to Tuscumbia for their Show-Me Conference opener Thursday, while Fulton goes to Kirksville for a North Central Missouri Conference matchup. Both games start at 5 p.m.
