Owls, Lady Owls finish top 10 at Memphis Twilight classic

The William Woods women placed eighth and the men finished 10th in the 12th-annual Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic on Saturday.

Senior Lee Anna Sanders was the Lady Owls' top finisher, closing the nighttime run with a 28th-place time of 19 minutes, 17.86 seconds. Junior Samantha Brolaski crossed the finish line in 19:17.86 to place 33rd, while freshman Jami Brandow earned 54th place, clocking a 20:16.79 in her college debut.

Senior Kaleb Wilson paced the William Woods men with a 40th-place time of 21:43.82. Wilson finished a minute behind overall winner Damien Roszko of Mississippi State.

Redshirt senior Blake Clowers claimed 81st in a time of 22:51.93. Freshman Kyle Gabrielson finished his first collegiate run in 23:09.07, good for 87th place.

The Owls and Lady Owls will run in the Forest Park Cross Country Festival on Sept. 12 in St. Louis.
