Lady Blue Jays volleyball team swept by SLIAC foe Webster

The Westminster College Lady Blue Jays volleyball team was taken down by the Webster University Lady Gorloks in Tuesday night's 25-16, 25-17 and 25-20 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference home loss.

Westminster - suffering its second straight loss after winning eight in a row - slipped to 15-10 overall and fell into third place in the SLIAC at 13-3. Webster, 19-11 on the season, moved into second place in the conference by itself at 14-2.

Sophomore outside hitter Riley Lawrence paced the Lady Blue Jays with 12 kills Tuesday night and junior middle hitter Lexi Collier had seven. Sophomore setter Kayla Reeg recorded 28 assists, while junior libero Caroline Will totalled 21 digs.

Westminster played a SLIAC match at Blackburn (Illinois) College on Wednesday night. Results were not available at press time. The Lady Blue Jays swept Blackburn 25-17, 25-13 and 25-19 on Oct. 11 in Fulton.
