William Woods shuts out Johnson & Wales

Senior midfielder Brittainy German and junior defender Sarah Krispin each scored twice in the Lady Owls' 6-0 victory over the Lady Wildcats in Sunday's home finale.

William Woods (9-6-2) has won five of its last seven outings.

German and junior midfielder Jordan McNamara assisted on senior forward Jamie Palermo's tally in the 8th minute to open the scoring. German followed up with her first goal in the 16th minute on senior midfielder Rachel Meyer's assist, while Krispin tallied her first goal in the 24th minute via senior midfielder Amy Faus' assist.

Meyer scored in the 30th minute on assists from mid- fielders Mackenzie Cork and Ashley Deckard to give the Lady Owls a 4-0 lead at intermission. Krispin struck again in the 70th minute on a Meyer assist, then supplied a pass that led to German's second goal in the 74th minute to finish scoring.

Junior Ashley Parisi and sophomore Brittany Griffin combined to save five shots in securing the shutout.

After assisting on three goals in four games last week, Deckard was named American Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this sea- son.

William Woods closes its regular season with an AMC game at Freed-Hardeman at 5 p.m. Thursday.
