William Woods drops AMC tilt to No. 21 Lindenwood-Belleville

The Owls dropped an American Midwest Conference contest 3-1 against the 21st-ranked Lynx on Saturday.

William Woods (10-4-2, 5-3-1 AMC) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute on sophomore defender Jesse Jordan's goal on an assist by senior defender Jake Hawes.

Lindenwood tied the game at 1-all on Leonardo Ferri's tally on an assist by Enrique Garcia. Ferri, then, assisted on Cesar Acosta's game-winning goal in the 48th minute.

The Lynx finished their scoring on a strike by Johan Sundberg off Acosta's assist in the 89th minute.

Freshman goalkeeper Conor Cable notched eight saves for the Owls, who were outshot 11-2 for the game.

William Woods finishes its conference slate with an AMC game at Freed-Hardemann at 7p.m. on Thursday.
