Lady Owls split home matches with Friends and No. 19 Evangel

Junior outside hitter Emily Becker and freshman setter Brittany Engelbrecht each had a double-double in the Lady Owls' sweep of the Friends (Kansas) University Fal- cons on Saturday.

William Woods (20-14) topped the Falcons 25-23, 25-16 and 25-15 and bowed to the No. 19 Evangel University Lady Crusaders 26-24, 30-28 and 28-26.

Becker posted a game-high 17 kills and chipped in 12 digs, while freshman setter Brittany Engelbrecht posted 38 assists and added 10 digs. Freshman freshman outside hitter Abbi McKnelly produced 15 kills as the Lady Owls converted 32.8 percent of their attacks against Friends.

Senior defensive specialist Abbie O'Mara led the Lady Owls with 18 digs and junior defensive specialist McKenna Hisel finished with 15.

McKnelly accounted for 14 kills against the Crusaders as William Woods finished with a 13.9 percent attack rate. O'Mara led all players with 27 digs, while junior Baily Peterson and Hisel added 13 and 10, respectively. Engel- brecht concluded the match with a game-high 36 assists.

The Lady Owls play an American Midwest Conference game at Park University at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
