Westminster drops SLIAC match to Spalding

The Lady Blue Jays saw their eight-match winning streak snapped in a 24-26, 25-17, 25-22 and 25-13 SLIAC loss to the Lady Golden Eagles on Friday night.

With the loss, Westminster College (15-9, 13-2 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) fell into a second-place tie with Webster University in the conference standings.

Sophomore outside hitter Riley Lawrence and junior middle hitter Lexi Collier shared the team lead with 13 kills as the Lady Blue Jays converted just 11.5 percent of their attacks.

Junior libero Caroline Will racked up a game-high 19 digs, followed by 16 apiece from sophomore opposite hitter Gabby LaRose and sophomore setter Kayla Reeg.

Regg also tallied 40 assists to register a double-double.

Westminster clashes with Webster in a SLIAC match at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Louis. The Lady Blue Jays swept the Lady Gorloks in three sets at the Westminster Quad on Sept. 27.
