Eagles finish season with crazy 62-60 win over Iowa

Allen breaks out for nine TDs to ignite MSD

Missouri School for the Deaf junior quarterback Joseph Allen accounted for nine touchdowns as the host Eagles ended their season with a wild 62-60 victory over the Iowa School for the Deaf Bobcats on Thursday.

Allen threw for 217 yards and three scores, while racking up 264 yards rushing and six touchdowns on just 14 carries. Allen also added 23 tackles from his linebacker spot on defense.

Senior wide receiver Benson Goodwin had five catches for 157 yards and two scores for MSD, while adding 12 tackles on defense. Sophomore running back Ste'Quan Scott collected four receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown and equalled Allen with 23 tackles from his linebacker position.

Junior defensive lineman Noe Garcia ended up with 15 tackles, sophomore defensive lineman Scotty Percy totalled 13 and sophomore linebacker Markus Smith added 11.

The Eagles finished the season with a 2-5 record.

"I am very proud of all of my boys and I am looking forward to next year," MSD head coach Stacy Pittmon said.
