The No. 4 Lady Wildcats allowed six two-out runs in the bottom of the third inning of their 6-1, season-ending loss to the top-seeded Lady Comets in the semifinals of the Class 2, District 10 tournament on Saturday.
New Bloomfield (11-12) managed just four hits.
Sophomore starting pitcher Madison Love lasted just 2 2/3 innings, striking out two and giving up nine hits and a walk. Sophomore Kate Baxter relieved her for the final 3 1/3 innings, giving up two hits and striking out one.
Freshman Madi Craighead went 2-for-3, senior Kennedy Peiter was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI and Baxter finished the game 1-for-3.
