Fulton bows to NCMC foe Hannibal at home in two sets

Freshman outside hitter Kate Pani posted a team-leading six kills in the Lady Hornets' 25-9 and 25-19 North Central Missouri Conference loss to the Lady Pirates on Thursday night at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium.

Junior middle hitter Rylea Troesser had six digs for Fulton (7-11-2, 3-6 NCMC), while senior middle hitter Madison Murphy recorded four blocks. Junior setter Kenzie Shaw tallied six assists, three aces, two digs, a block and a kill.

"The ladies showed a great deal of pride bouncing back in the second set and taking the No. 1 team in the conference to the brink of match point," Fulton head coach Coleman Lee said. "I was really proud of their effort to protect home court."

The Lady Hornets competed in the Versailles Tournament on Saturday. Results were not available at press time.

Fulton plays at Fatima at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
