The ninth annual second sight friends fundraiser is today. The event will have a barbecue, bake sale and raffle from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. in the VisionArts Eyecare Center parking lot, located at 614 Market St. in Fulton.
All proceeds will be used to purchase low vision equipment and other items for area nursing home residents. In the past, proceeds have purchased magnifiers, lights, large print books and as well as other items for nursing home residents. VisionArts Eyecare Center discusses residents' needs with nursing home administration, residents and families.
The fundraiser will serve pork steak, chips and a drink for $7 - $6.50 each for 10 or more meals. They will also serve pork steak sandwiches for $5.50, hot dog, chips and a drink for $2.50, a hot dog for $1.50, bag of chips for 75 cents and soda or bottled water for $1 a piece.
Cindy Vann with VisionArts Eyecare Center said the fundraiser will happen rain or shine today.
