Kelly Ross scored the match's only goal as the Lady Cougars handed the Lady Owls their first American Midwest Conference loss in a 1-0 decision Wednesday night at Firley Field.
Ross took a pass from defender Mallory Page and put it past William Woods University sophomore goalkeeper Brittany Griffin in the 20th minute. Griffin saved five of the six shots she faced.
The Lady Owls (3-5-2, 2-1-2 AMC) logged four shots.
William Woods travels to Lindenwood-Belleville for a conference match at 1 p.m. Saturday.
