South Callaway shuts out Hermann to reach District 10 semifinals

Senior Kaitlyn Loucks was 4-for-4 with four runs batted in as the third-seeded Lady Bulldogs blanked the No. 6 Lady Bearcats 9-0 in the first round of the Class 2, District 10 Tournament on Wednesday night.

The Lady Bulldogs (18-8) face No. 2 Linn (14-6) at 5 p.m. today in the semifinals. All games were rained out Thursday. South Callaway suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to Linn in Show-Me Conference play Sept. 8.

South Callaway - last year's Class 2 runner-up and winners of two straight district titles - scored twice in the first inning Wednesday night, once in the fifth and erupted for six runs in the sixth.

Loucks connected for three doubles as the Lady Bulldogs accumulated 13 hits. Sophomore starter Konnor Arrowood was 2-for-3 with a solo home run, while junior Kennedy Farley also finished 2-for-3.

Junior Ashley Miller went 2-for-4.

Arrowood threw a two-hitter over six innings, struck out 10 and issued a walk to post the win. Miller struck out one in one inning of relief.
