Lady Blue Jays go unbeaten in SLIAC game at Eureka

Westminster ran its winning streak to four games with a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference sweep of the Eureka Lady Red Devils on Saturday.

The Lady Blue Jays (11-8, 9-1 SLIAC) defeated Eureka 25-18, 25-20 and 25-23.

Sophomore setter Kayla Reeg posted a double-double of 29 assists and tied freshman libero Kendall Johnson for the team lead in digs with 11. Junior middle hitter Lexi Collier led Westminster with 11 kills and four blocks as the Lady Blue Jays completed 23.2 percent of their attacks.

Westminster topped the Spalding Lady Eagles in four sets on Saturday, prevailing 25-14, 25-20, 17-25 and 25-18. Sophomore outside hitter Riley Lawrence paced the Lady Blue Jays with a team-best 13 kills, while chipping in 13 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Amanda Kiso added 11 kills for Westminster, which converted 16.7 percent of its attacks.

Reeg had 39 assists and a team-leading 25 digs, while junior libero Caroline Will notched 16 digs.

The Lady Blue Jays began the weekend with a 25-22, 25-15 and 25-13 win over the Lady Red Devils on Friday.

Freshman outside hitter Hannah Marshall led with 13 kills and Lawrence followed with 10 to spark Westminster's offense to a 29.8 percent attack mark. Reeg had 35 assists and 12 digs, while Will led the Lady Blue Jays in the latter category with 14.

Westminster hosts SLIAC foe Blackburn at 9:30 a.m. this Saturday.
