Two Fulton residents are in jail after an investigation into an armed robbery that took place on Grand Street early Friday morning, according to a Fulton Police Department press release.

After receiving information that two robbery suspects were located in Sedalia, Fulton Police worked with the Sedalia Police Department to find and arrest Dorian Hughes, 37, of Fulton and Jennifer Hughes, 43, of Fulton.

Officers were called to the 700 block of Grand Street around 3 a.m. Friday for a report of armed robbery and assault. They discovered the victim, a 58-year-old female, who claimed to have been assaulted and forced - at gun point - to withdraw an undisclosed amount of money from her ATM, according to a Fulton Police Department press release.

The investigation led to the identification of Dorian and Jennifer Hughes.

According to the release, the suspects and the victim are acquaintances, and the incident is not believed to be random.

Both suspects are being charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, armed criminal action, kidnapping, unlawful use of a weapon and tampering with a victim/witness. Dorian Hughes is facing an additional charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Their bonds are set at $300,000 each.
