Blue Jays crush Central Christian, log first win

Senior guard Brandon Moore missed just one field goal to push Westminster to its first win of the season, a 74-38 triumph over the Central Christian College of the Bible Saints on Monday night at Westminster Gymnasium.

Moore finished with a team-high 12 points on 4-of-5 field goals, while knocking down all four of his 3-pointers. Freshman guard Jaime Villalobos contributed 11 points, finishing 4-of-6 from the floor and 3-for-4 from long range. Junior guard Jay Zalis added nine points and sophomore forward Tanner Gentges posted seven points and five rebounds.

Westminster (1-3) hit on 47.5 percent of its field goals (28-of-59) and converted 54 percent from 3-point range (13-of-24). The Blue Jays topped the Saints on the boards 38-28.

Westminster will host Webster to begin St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
