Callahan's double-double pushes William Woods to AMC win

Freshman guard Nikki Callahan finished with a double-double and the Lady Owls ran their winning streak to five games with a 98-31 AMC dismantling of the Lady Bulldogs on Saturday at Anderson Arena.

Callahan logged a game-high 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field, and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead all players.

William Woods (6-1, 2-0 American Midwest Conference) broke the game open with a 21-0 spurt early in the first half to jump out to a 25-4 cushion with 13 minutes, 22 seconds left in the first half. The Lady Owls took a 57-19 lead into halftime.

Senior guard Paige Stewart posted 11 points and handed out four assists, while sophomore forward Grace Wade added 10 points and collected six rebounds.

William Woods finished an even 50 percent (38-of-76) from the floor and had a 53-27 rebounding edge.

The Lady Owls return to the court when they host AMC foe Hannibal-LaGrange at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4.
