Lady Owls place six on all-AMC volleyball team

Freshman outside hitter Abbi McKnelly was a second-team all-American Midwest Conference selection and was tabbed as the league's Freshman of the Year in a list released recently.

McKnelly was fifth in the AMC with 381 kills, while adding 247 digs, 34 service aces and 32 blocks.

Junior outside hitter Emily Becker earned all-AMC first-team honors for a third year in a row after finishing sixth in the conference with 379 kills. Becker's .268 attack percentage and 49 service aces were team highs, while she also posted 280 digs and 91 blocks.

Senior libero Abbie O'Mara was a second-team all-AMC honoree after finishing second in the conference with 694 digs. O'Mara - a two-time all-AMC player - finished her career as the school's all-time leader in digs with 2,259.

Freshman setter Brittney Engelbrecht earned an honorable mention team bid after totaling 1,365 assists, good for third in the AMC and 12th nationally.

Senior outside hitter Kristen Bauer earned honorable mention recognition for a fourth time after racking up 310 kills on the year. She is the school's all-time leader in that category with 1,345. Sophomore middle blocker Stephanie Davis also an honorable mention selection after collecting a team-high 102 blocks.
