Westminster falls to Webster in four-set SLIAC tourney loss

The Lady Blue Jays' season ended in a 25-16, 27-25, 18-25 and 25-23 loss to the second-seeded Lady Gorlok in the semifinals of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday.

Westminster - the tournament's No. 3 seed - closed its season at 17-14.

A trio of Lady Blue Jays finished with double-digit kill totals, led by sophomore outside hitter Riley Lawrence's game-high of 19. Junior middle hitter Lexi Collier and freshman outside hitter Hannah Marshall each logged 12 kills as Westminster converted 19.4 percent of its attacks.

Lady Blue Jays sophomore setter Kayla Reeg led all players with 50 assists to go with 10 digs. Junior libero Caroline Will contributed a team-leading 21 digs, while sophomore opposite-hitter Gabby LaRose posted 13.

Lawrence was named to the All-Tournament team and earned first-team All-SLIAC recognition. Reeg and sophomore middle blocker Amanda Kiso earned second-team honors, while freshman middle blocker Briana Patlan earned a spot on the All-Sportsmanship team.
