Lady Owls junior forward Nia Lateju netted a career-high 20 points to push William Woods to a 70-58 win over the Lady Threshers on Saturday at the Columbia College Classic.
Lateju hit on 7-of-15 field goals as the Lady Owls (2-1) connected on 38.6 percent of their field goals (22-of-57).
Senior guard Blake French added 15 points and handed out a game-high six assists, while junior guard Marissa Webb added 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc.
William Woods edged out Bethel on the glass 39-37.
The Lady Owls (2-1) plays at Southwestern (Kansas) College at 7 p.m. on Friday in the Southwestern Classic. William Woods closes out the classic against Sterling (Kansas) College at 1 p.m. this Saturday.
