Owls falter against Graceland

The Owls committed 22 turnovers and were just 2-of-15 from 3-point range in a 81-62 loss to the Yellow Jackets at the Columbia College Classic on Friday.

Sophomore guard Ryan Hill paced William Woods with 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor. Junior guard Austin Lowery pitched in 10 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers.

For the game, the Owls hit 25-of-60 from the field - 41.7 percent - but were only 2-of-15 from beyond the arc.

William Woods (0-2) edged out Graceland 38-37 on the glass, but allowed the Yellow Jackets to hit just over 50 percent of their field goals and exactly 50 percent - 10-of-20 - from 3-point distance.

Yellow Jackets guard Austin Danner poured in a game-high 25 points.

The Owls finished play at the Columbia College Classic against Concordia Seminary University on Saturday, but results were not available at press time.

William Woods plays at Avila University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
