Go vote.

That message was communicated on social media, yard signs and "I voted" stickers on election day and the days preceding it.

In Callaway County, 39.11 percent of registered voters followed through with their "civic duty" on Tuesday, casting ballots in the general election. That number is down 6.19 percent from the 2010 mid-term election in which 45.30 percent of registered Callawegians voted, according to the Callaway County Clerk's Office.

The 2010 election is comparable to the 2014 election because neither included a presidential race - a factor that can draw an increased number of voters to the polls.
