Principia topples Lady Blue Jays volleyball team

ELSAH, Ill. - The Westminster College Lady Blue Jays volleyball team stumbled in its regular-season finale Tuesday night and was swept by Principia College 25-19, 25-23 and 25-21 in SLIAC play.

Sophomore setter Kayla Reeg recorded a double-double with 27 assists and 27 digs to guide Westminster College (17-13, 14-4 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference). Sophomore outside hitter Riley Lawrence added a team-high 11 kills, while junior middle hitter Lexi Collier and sophomore middle hitter Amanda Kiso both contributed seven.

The Lady Blue Jays are the third seed for the SLIAC postseason tournament at Greenville (Illinois) College on Saturday. Westminster will square off against No. 2 seed Webster University (20-12) in a semifinal match at 4 p.m. The Lady Blue Jays were swept by the Lady Gorloks 25-16, 25-17 and 25-20 on Oct. 28 in St. Louis.

In Saturday's first semifinal at 2 p.m., top-seeded Greenville (22-8) battles No. 4 Spalding (Kentucky) University (17-15). The championship match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
