William Woods falls to No. 8 Missouri Valley in 2OT

Midfielder Rael Beneit netted the game-winning goal eight minutes into the second overtime of the No. 8-ranked Vikings' 2-1 win over the Owls in Sunday's regular-season finale at Firley Field.

William Woods (11-5-2) got on the board in the 4th minute when senior midfielder Sebastian Burich scored off an assist by sophomore defender Jesse Jordan.

Rafael Alcaraz evened the game at 1-all in the 19th minute via Marc Heaman's assist.

The Owls outshot the Vikings 5-2 on the day. William Woods freshman goalkeeper Conor Cable was credited with five saves.

The Owls - seeded fifth in the American Midwest Conference tournament - will play at No. 4 Hannibal-LaGrange at 1 p.m. Saturday.

William Woods bowed to the Trojans 2-1 on Oct. 16 in Hannibal.
