Westminster picked to finish third in SLIAC preseason poll

The Blue Jays received 63 points, good for third place in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll released last Friday.

Webster picked up 81 points and nine first-place votes to finish first, while defending SLIAC champion Spalding had 69 points and a single first-place nod.

Westminster - which returns second-team, all-SLIAC senior guards Verdis Lee Jr. and Brandon Moore - finished 14-12 overall and 11-7 in league play last season, falling to Spalding in the first round of the SLIAC tournament.

The Blue Jays begin the season against Millikin University in the the Tip Off Tournament at 3 p.m. Nov. 15 in Elmhurst, Illinois.
