Fulton freshmen James Hill and Dustin Lee posted a win at No. 2 doubles at the Class 1, District 7 individual tournament last Saturday at the high school athletic complex.
Hill and Lee defeated Columbia Independent's Mary Cleavenger and Bianca Micacka 6-2, 6-4 in the opening round. They'd fall to eventual district champions Tyler Hanson and Ethan Murphy of Kirksville by in consecutive 6-0 games.
Hornet freshmen Justin Adams and Sperry Storm bowed 6-0, 6-0 to Christian Polovich and Aaron Ockenfels of Kirksville in No. 1 doubles competition.
"I think everybody gave a great effort and nobody quit," Fulton head coach Rob Fisher said. "We met a lot of good competition and I think most of the competition we played made it to the finals or won.
"A lot of our younger guys got a lot of expereince seeing their first district."
