St. Peters Eagles senior Nick Jones advanced to sectional competition by winning the 100, 200 and 400 meters, along with the long jump Saturday in the Class 1, District 1 championships at Lutheran St. Charles High School.
Jones prevailed in the 100, 200 and 400 with times of 11.26, 23.10 and 51.72 seconds, respectively, as the Missouri School for the Deaf boys finished sixth overall with 40 points. He triumphed in the long jump with a distance of 21 feet, 5 3/4 inches.
Jones moves on to the Sectional 1 championships this Saturday at Principia High School in St. Louis.
MSD, with 13 points, took 10th in the girls’ division.
New Haven captured the District 1 girls’ title with 150 points and Viburnum secured the boys’ championship with 118.
