Fulton boys' tennis falls in NCMC clash with Mexico

The Hornets bowed to the rival Bulldogs 9-3 in a North Central Missouri Conference clash Tuesday night.

Here are the singles and doubles results:

•No. 1 singles: Jackson Crow (M) def. senior Sawyer Young (F), 10-0; No. 2: Richard Stamy (M) def. freshman Grant Hendricks (F), 10-5; No. 3: Gabriel Marley (M) def. freshman Sperry Storm (F), 10-4; No. 4: Collin Cosby (M) def. freshman Justin Adams (F), 10-1; No. 5: Jacob Fuemmeler (M) def. freshman Devan Hudson (F), 10-2; No. 6: Andrew Whitworth (M) def. freshman James Hill (F), 10-5.

•No. 1 singles: Crow/Stamy (M) def. Young/Hendricks (F), 10-3; No. 2: Marley/Cosby (M) def. Adams/Hudson (F), 10-7; No. 3: Fuemmeler/Whitworth (M) def. Storm/freshman Dustin Lee (F), 10-5.

The Hornets won the Nos. 4-6 doubles matches by forfeit.

Fulton head coach Rob Fisher made special mention of Hudson and Adams' No. 2 doubles match against Marley and Cosby, complimenting them on the way they rallied in the match after trailing by a number of games.

"They played well together and used a lot of the strategies I taught them," Fisher said.

The Hornets (4-17) were blanked by the Moberly Spartans 12-0 in an NCMC match on Monday night at home.

Fulton continues conference play at Marshall at 4:30 p.m. today.
