Owls drop series finale to Lyon; win streak ends at four

The William Woods University Owls baseball team had its winning streak stopped at four games after Lyon (Ark.) College salvaged the finale of the three-game AMC series with an 8-4 win Saturday at Owls Field.

William Woods - which swept Friday's doubleheader - is now 21-7 overall and 9-5 in the American Midwest Conference. The Owls have won eight of their last 10.

William Woods' Sanders qualifies

for outdoor national championships

ST. LOUIS - Junior Lee Anna Sanders achieved the NAIA "B' standard in the women's 10,000-meter run and qualified for the outdoor national championships Friday at the Washington University Invitational.

Sanders finished seventh in the 10,000 with a time of 37 minutes, 52.51 seconds, easily coming in under the "B' standard of 38:13. She will be making her first trip to the outdoor national championships. Sanders also qualified for the indoor national championships in the 5,000 earlier this year.
