Fulton Bowling Center is hosting two big tournaments this spring that they hope will draw an accompanying flood of visitors to Fulton and Callaway County.

March 29-30 and April 5-6 and 12-13 the bowling alley will host the Missouri BPA Zone 2 Family Doubles Tournament. It also will be home to the Missouri State Pepsi Youth Tournament April 26-27 and May 3-4 and 10-11.

A promotional flyer states these events will be "bringing folks into our community, they will be needing motels, restaurants, gas stations, shopping and tourism sites. These events are huge, put out your welcome signs and banners! Make them feel welcome in Fulton and want (to) return!"

Fulton Bowling Center Manager Doyle Swiney said there are 90 pairs registered for the tournament starting this weekend. There are more than 300 bowlers signed up for the state youth tournament.

"We'll be close to 400 over the three weekends by tournament time," he said.
