Hornets beat Battle, toppled by T-Birds

Fulton toppled Battle High School Spartans 9-7 on Monday at the high school athletic complex.

The Hornets bowed in their second game of the day to the Thunderbirds 3-2 in Kingdom City.

ASHLAND — Southern Boone’s Niki Kleinheider registered a hat trick as the Lady Eagles blanked the Lady Hornets on Monday night.

Southern Boone got on the board in the eighth minute on a strike by Shelby Fulk then got Kleinheider’s first score in the 28th minute to stretch the lead to 2-0.

Lauren Mann made it a three-goal lead for the Lady Eagles a minute later and Kleinheider notched her second goal a minute after Mann. Brittany Harper scored in the 35th minute to send Southern Boone into halftime up 5-0. Kleinheider registered her final goal 14 minutes into the second half to top off the scoring.
