Lady Owls fade in second of season-ending loss

The William Woods University Lady Owls felt they would need to play as cleanly as possible if they wanted to extend their season and upset the third-ranked Westminster (Utah) College Lady Griffins.

It worked well for almost the entirety of the first half, before mistakes and missed shots ultimately doomed William Woods.

The No. 8 seed Lady Owls fell victim to an early second-half spurt by top-seeded Westminster and the outcome was a season-ending 66-50 loss Thursday afternoon in the first round of the 34th-annual NAIA Division I national championship.
