Holts Summit-area man jailed for unlawful use of weapon

A Holts Summit-area man was jailed for pointing a gun at someone during an argument.

The Callaway County Sheriff's deputies responded to Evergreen Drive near Holts Summit about 9:45 p.m. Thursday to a report of a disturbance involving a firearm. According to a press release from the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, deputies talked to Corie L. Simon Jr., 28, and a person whom alleged Simon pointed a gun at them during an argument. No shots were fired and no one was injured, according to the press release. Simon was taken to Callaway County Jail on $25,000 bond and is facing charges of unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

The investigation is ongoing.
