Hornet wrestlers roll to title in own Jim Wallace Classic

Fulton captures seven individual championships

The state-ranked Fulton Hornets wrestling team’s fortunes fell on seven.

Directed by unbeaten sophomore Josh McClure at 113 pounds, Fulton collected seven individual titles on Saturday as the Hornets charged to the championship of their own Jim Wallace Classic at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium.

Fulton — ranked No. 6 in Class 2 by MissouriWrestling.com — accumulated 216 points to secure the team title. Fifth-ranked Odessa followed in second place with 162 points. The Hornets took second place in Class 2 last season, while the Bulldogs came in right behind them in third.
