Burgess, Owls hold Missouri Baptist 77-66

Senior guard Blake Burgess' team-high 18 points sparked William Woods to a 77-66 American Midwest Conference conquering of the Missouri Baptist Spartans on Saturday at Anderson Arena.

Burgess converted 5-of-10 field goals to pace an Owl offense that featured two other double-digit scorers and shot 52.1 percent (25-for-48) from the field. Senior guard Jonathon Nutt scored 11 points, including a 6-for-8 clip from the free throw line while senior forward Seth Thomas also added 11 points and hit 3-of-4 from 3-point range and collected eight rebounds.

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The Blue Jays' losing streak reached three straight as they fell to the Greenville Panthers on the road in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon.

Junior guard Verdis Lee Jr. - a 2010 Fulton graduate - led Westminster with 14 points and six rebounds on 6-of-10 shooting.

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Senior guard Leigh Ann Lutz logged a game-high 22 points in guiding the Lady Blue Jays to a SLIAC road win over the Greenville Lady Panthers on Saturday.

Lutz converted 8-of-15 field goal attempts and went 3-for-5 from 3-point range while handing out four assists for Westminster.
