Senior guard Leigh Ann Lutz tallied a game-high 25 points and became Westminster College's all-time leading scorer in the Lady Blue Jays' 81-71 SLIAC home win over Greenville (Ill.) College on Wednesday night.
Lutz - who now has 1,289 career points - hit a 3-pointer with 15 minutes, 59 seconds left in the game to surpass the previous mark of 1,282, established by Amy Schaeperkoetter from 1994-98. Lutz was just 9-of-22 from the field Wednesday night, but connected on 5-of-9 attempts from 3-point range.
"It is a huge honor to hold the all-time scoring record, but I owe all of the credit to some really great teammates throughout my four years here," said Lutz, who also owns the Lady Blue Jays' career (229) and season (75) marks for 3-pointers and is one of seven players in the program's history to eclipse 1,000 points. "Reaching 1,289 points takes 500-plus great passes."

Junior guard Verdis Lee Jr. surpassed 1,000 career points and the host Blue Jays pushed their winning streak to four games with Wednesday night's SLIAC triumph over the Panthers.
Lee - a Fulton native - ended up with 17 points and reached the milestone on a layup with 2 minutes, 15 seconds remaining in the first half. He joins senior guard Joe James and 18 other Westminster College players who have eclipsed 1,000 points.
Lee and junior guard Brandon Moore both had 11 points in the first half to help steer the Blue Jays to a 40-30 lead at the break. Greenville (Ill.) College pulled within 60-56 on Nick Trisko's conventional three-point play with 7:08 left in the game, but Westminster answered with a 15-4 run down the stretch to pull away for the 15-point victory.
