Mann helps steer Lady Bulldogs to 45-40 win over Jamestown

MOKANE - South Callaway freshman point guard Adrian Mann produced a team-high 15 points to guide the Lady Bulldogs to a 45-40 non-conference win over Jamestown on Tuesday night.

South Callaway (3-2) broke a 32-all tie at the end of the third quarter by outscoring the Lady Eagles 13-8 over the final 8 minutes.

"We were a lot more aggressive," head coach Darren Humphrey said of the Lady Bulldogs' defensive showing. "We really helped each other out as far as switching (assignments)."

Sophomore guard Nicole Horstman and sophomore center Konnor Arrowood chipped in with 11 points apiece for the Lady Bulldogs.

"Really, truly, our guards stepped up and played to their potential," Humphrey said. "We got some good quality time out of them; they were really patient and worked the ball around."

Alli Muri led Jamestown with 15 points and Mickayla Strother added 11.

South Callaway - sparked by freshman guard Ashley Potter's nine points - prevailed 27-6 in the two-quarter junior varsity game. Freshman guard Kaci Jordan contributed eight points.

The Lady Bulldogs return to Show-Me Conference play when they host Eugene at 6 p.m. Friday.
