Fulton man arrested after low-speed chase

Fulton Police responded to a call at 11:43 p.m. Tuesday on the 1000 block of Merklin Drive for a report of a man knocking on the front door of a residence he has an active trespassing warning for, according to a release from the police department.

Before officers arrived to the residence, Daniel J. Day of Fulton had allegedly fled in his black Honda Civic. A Fulton officer spotted Day's vehicle a few blocks away from Merklin Drive and tried to halt him on State Route C near Tennyson Road. The press release states Day would not stop driving and led police on a slow speed pursuit southbound on State Route C to Julie Street, about one mile south of Fulton.

He then drove into a driveway at the dead of Julie Street, stopped and was taken into custody without further incident, the release states. Police arrested Day and transported him to the Callaway County Jail pending a $1,500 bond on the charges of trespassing in the first degree, resisting arrest and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
