Inmate at Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center dies

An inmate at the Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center died Thursday.

A press release from the center stated that Kevin Harper was pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m. Aug. 14 at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City.

Harper, 36, was serving a two-year sentence for second-degree burglary in Jackson County. He was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on April 24, 2012, according to the press release.

The press release stated that Harper died of "apparent natural causes."
