Artists announced for Music on Main in Auxvasse

Organizers of Music on Main have announced the lineup for the concert.

The opener will be local artist Grady Frasier, followed by Disengaged and featured artist Adam Sanders.

The event, a fundraiser for Auxvasse's volunteer fire department, starts at 6 p.m. Oct. 4 in the 100 block of South Main Street.

Auxvasse Fire Chief Nick Kaufman said Frasier, who is from Mexico, is an acoustical artist who writes his own music and also performs covers.

"It's a great way for everyone to come mingle and enjoy themselves without a band screaming in the background," Kaufman said. "I saw Grady at the street fair in Fulton and I thought his voice was phenomenal.

He said Disengaged is a popular regional cover band with members from Columbia and Centralia.

"They have a really loyal, active regional following," Kaufman said, noting the band plays music by Foreigner, Journey, the Eagles, Nickelback, older country hits, "a little bit of everything. They're just a rock-solid performer."

Kaufman said Adam Sanders, who has a new single out on iTunes and radio, "Nothin' to Do But Drink," is an up-and-coming country artist.

Kaufman said concert organizers chose Sanders from a list of singers from talent agencies in Nashville.

"We really feel like Adam was the most promising," he said. "When his song gets on the radio around here it's going to be really popular."

Kaufman recalled during a recent Auxvasse Board of Aldermen meeting that the city used to be known for its entertainment, and said he hoped Music on Main will help re-establish that reputation.

He said again Friday he hopes the event will help bring more people to his hometown.

"I'm looking forward to people coming to Auxvasse and enjoying themselves ... and wanting to come back," Kaufman said.
